This design is a timeless one that has been seen in the knife world for a long, long time. Here the old design is expressed with modern materials like stainless steel and mycarta as well as with the ancient materials like the solid mammoth ivory. This knife is made from 1/8 inch hand rubbed ATS-34 stainless steel. A stainless steel similar to 154CM. The blade has been hand polished to a semi-gloss finish. The bolsters are nickle-silver that have been fashioned with files and hand finished to a high gloss. The black spacer between the bolsters and the extra thick mammoth ivory handle slabs is a 3/8" band of black micarta. The knife measures 7" overall with a 3" blade that has the makers name deeply etched into its full tang. Paterson does all his own heat treating using an Electric Knife Kiln made by Evenheat. This fine blade has been tempered to R/C 58-59. Questions? Scrimshaw can be added by the scrimshander of your choice although I have ideas for this knife already in mind!
